Joe and Gwen Frey were raised in Mennonite communities, providing them with an early foundation in Christian teachings and biblical stories.

High school sweethearts, they married shortly after graduation and embarked on building both a family and a business—Joe focusing on entrepreneurship while Gwen dedicated herself to family life.

Although they attributed their achievements to their faith,
over time they became preoccupied with daily responsibilities, which diminished the centrality of their spiritual values.

Following significant financial losses during the 2008 recession, Joe and Gwen turned to their faith for guidance. In response, they spent the next fifteen years traveling throughout various African countries, where they witnessed notable religious revivals among local communities.

Today, their aspiration is to see a similar spiritual transformation take place within the United States.
